Semester in Siena

Cost and Related Issues

Cost per student: $ 5520.00

(see application for dates due)

Cost includes:

• All student costs in Italy (access to library, self-study center, Internet) for all courses.

• Double rooms in shared student apartments with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities (the number of rooms per apartment varies from 1 to 7).

Cost does not include:

• Flight expense (some students may want to use frequent flier miles or even arrive or stay later).

• Travel to and from Siena from airport.

• Optional excursions to Rome and Florence, Chianti tours, etc.

• Food, except meals in the culinary demonstrations.

• AASU tuition for these courses. Obviously, since students are receiving Armstrong credit, tuition is still due. However, students will not need to pay on-campus fees (such as technology fee, athletic fee, etc.), totaling approximately $350-$400.

Other costs factors to consider:

• Students will complete a full semester in Siena. Therefore, all expenses associated with being on campus for 15 weeks are eliminated (housing, parking, etc.).

• Food would be an expense in the US or Italy. Food in Italy tends be about the same or less expensive then in the US.

Financial Aid:

Cost of this program is a legitimate academic expense and, as such, can be calculated into the student's eligibility for financial aid. Therefore, the program allows for greater potential for need-based programs such as subsidized Stafford loan, etc.

For more information on Financial Aid for this program, feel free to contact Dr. LeFavi or Ms. Lee Ann Kirkland, Director of Financial Aid, (912-927-5272; E-mail)
